Berner Oberland's magnificent Lauterbrunnen Valley & Wengen
Arrival at Wengen.
We arrived at Wengen late in the afternoon and had majestic views of the Swiss Alps before our dinner and music at our hotel. The dinner started with a taster of traditional Swiss fondue with cheese and bread. It was Very good! We arrived late because our bus had a problem and couldn't continue. Our guide Martin did a great job of getting a replacement bus and minimized the delay. |

Lauterbrunnen Valley Hiking.
This morning we joined our Guide Martin for a hike across the valley from Wengen and hiked from Grutschalp to Murren. This has to be one of the most beautiful areas I have ever experienced. |

Lunch after Hiking.
With the hike from Grutschalp to Murren completed, it was time for lunch. After a walk through Murren, we took the train from Murren to Grutschalp and then the lift back down to Lauterbrunnen for lunch which was really great. Keegan's dream before the trip was to buy a Swiss Army knife in Switzerland. His dream came true. |

Relax and Alphorn.
We returned to our hotel for some needed relaxation after our hike. Some of us watched the United States defeat the Netherlands 2-0 in the Womans FIFA Soccer World Cup. Later in the evening, we were treated to a history of the Alphorn. We even had the opportunity to play the Alphorn. I have to say, some of the members were very talented and sounded like professionals. |
Tomorrow we head to the Cinque Terre and the town of Monterroso.
